Transition from ICEM to Alias Certification

Course outline
This instructor led course will teach existing ICEM Surf maths modellers how to Use SurfaceStudio software as a surfacing tool. Focusing on the transition from ICEM Surf software to Autodesk Alias SurfaceStudio software.

Course Structure
This 4 day course is taught in a lecture/lab format designed so that the participants maximise their time in learning the tools and techniques available in the Surface Studio product. The instructor will begin each section with a lecture that will introduce and explore the relevant theory of each topic. A tutorial will follow each lecture to provide hands-on experience to reinforce the transitions and new tools.

Target audience
This course is designed for Surface modellers and surface Engineers who want to transition from ICEM Surf as a working tool to Surface Studio.

Prerequisites
Full understanding of ICEM Surf, with a minimum of 1 Years day to day use of ICEM Surf in industry. This course is not intended as training in Class A surfacing. (Technical Surfacing) Participants should have a firm understanding of the Class A workflows, methodologies and practices prior to attending this course.

Course outcomes
After successfully completing the ICEM Surf to Alias Surface Studio course, the student will be able to develop Class A models with in Alias Surface Studio from Scan Data, package and sketch data. Listed below are some of the key outcomes from the course.

Day 1
Interface and Basics. Model manipulation & organization. Tools mapping. Setting up a project.

Day 2
Basic workflows: Curve Based modeling. Curves evaluation. Surfacing tools.

Day 3
Reverse Engineering. Direct Modeling. Surfacing tools detail.

Day 4
Transition Surfaces. Evaluation tools
